JOB OVERVIEW

A dual role opportunity has opened up for a professional Associate/Adviser, with 12+ months experience advising clients; and 3+ years’ experience and technical knowledge as an Associate, to join this practice.

This Financial Planning practice is based in Richmond and currently operating on a blended model of office and home working arrangements. A progressive firm driven by outcomes, we aim to continue with this blended and flexible working arrangement, however this will remain subject to change, driven by client needs. REQUIREMENTS

Key accountabilities

Providing support to 2-3 Senior Financial Planners, while building up your own client base gradually as an Adviser, you will be responsible for the following;

As Associate Adviser

Attending client meetings in conjunction with a Senior Financial Planner, gathering information to prepare and develop strategies.
Prepare and develop financial planning strategies, financial modelling and incorporate available options into a strategy presentation. Ensure that the options provided meet clients’ needs, achieving their personal goals.
Co-ordination and preparation of any pre-work before client meetings and contact clients to arrange review appointments.
Liaising with clients and other stakeholders to support the collection of information, keeping the clients and stakeholders informed ensuring the client experience is of a high level.
Implementing all strategy recommendations.

As Adviser

Providing quality financial planning advice and building relationships with clients of Income Solutions to meet their lifestyle goals and financial objectives.
Overseeing the preparation of compliant Statements of Advice for clients by modelling and researching financial options using the strategies outlined by you, with support provided by Senior Financial Planners.
Identifying opportunities and developing relationships to support business growth objectives.
Provide coaching and mentoring to Associate Financial Planner and CSO positions to support their professional growth and development.
This dual role will suit individuals who want to pursue a long-term career within a Financial Planning environment, and who are interested in gradually building up their own client base, while providing support to and learning from existing advisers. The speed of transition will depend on your own drive and work ethic. A strong, consistent stream of quality referrals are received by the business, with additional new business expected through your own prospecting and networking.

Skills and experience

You will have successfully completed an Undergraduate Degree in Commerce majoring in Financial Planning or alternatively you have a Finance / Economics / related degree, and have completed your ADFS/PS146. You will have been an authorised representative for 12+ months advising your own clients, and meet the definition of an existing adviser under the FASEA definition.

The essentials for this role include extensive knowledge of product competencies, compliance and SMSFs; strong understanding of the financial planning industry; extensive experience working with X-Plan, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail, a commitment to ongoing development and proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
