Building your advice offering around your clients passions and dreams

Tim Henry has transformed his advice offering into a strategic coaching offering helping his clients clarify their vision and then co-creating their strategic plan to live out this vision.

Tim had to get his licensee on board with his new approach. It wasn’t easy, but it’s been worth it to allow Tim to make sure every document he puts in front of clients is a communication opportunity, rather than an advice document.

There were SO many great learnings in this session. If developing more of a strategic coaching offering is on your radar, here are the three key action items Tim recommends:

  1. Get your own coach (and possibly someone outside of the Fin Services world) – to help you see things you might have missed and to help you gain a new perspective
  2. Delivering inspiration and fun for clients – think about the last story or experience you shared with a friend, was it a dull and bland experience? Probably not. Create a fun experience for clients. They’ll be more likely to share it with others because it makes them feel good.
  3. Bring your clients into the process and ‘co-create’ their plans with them. And look for partnership opportunities with providers in and outside Fin Services to add an extra layer of value to your client experience.
